Swansea City Ladies travel to west Wales today to face Aberystwyth Town in what is the Swans’ final away league match of this season’s campaign (2pm).

With three matches left Swansea look in good stead to reclaim the Welsh Premier Women’s League title sitting in second place, level on points and with a game in hand on leaders Cardiff Met.

The defending champions come into today’s fixture on the back of two convincing wins against Cyncoed and Cascade, scoring eight goals and conceding none in the process.

Meanwhile, Aberystwyth are fighting to keep their spot in the top-flight with them currently sitting bottom of the WPWL, despite reaching the semi-final of the league cup in midweek.

Pre-match views

Colin Staples: “Aberystwyth will be pleased with their midweek showing and we will go there expecting a difficult game and as ever we have prepared accordingly.

“We go into the final set of games focused on the task ahead.

“We are ready and able to handle any pressure, but this comes from outside the group not from us.

“Our faith in the squad is undiminished, again we are focused on playing to win.”

Remember the last time?

The last time the two sides met was the first game back after the season restarted in March which the Swans claimed a comfortable 5-0 victory.

Chloe Chivers opened the scoring in the first half with a composed finish.

Stacey John-Davis stole the headline as she found the back of the net on four occasions in the second half.
